Hydroflux Epco Clarifiers for the Gibson Island Advanced Water Treatment System

Gibson Island STP was upgraded in 2008 as part of the Western Corridor scheme in Brisbane, to allow for the advanced treatment of secondary effluent to enable reuse.

Overview

The site has a capacity of 26 MLD and a new advanced water treatment meant that Hydroflux Epco clarifiers were supplied as part of the works. Two 45M diameter LogMax® clarifiers were installed and these were fitted with CoverSweep® to prevent algae growth within the effluent launder channel.

Multiple scum boxes were also provided as part of the design.

The units have been operation since 2009. Over 330 Hydroflux Epco clarifiers have built for applications in Australia, Pacific Island, SE Asia and Europe.
