Heavy Duty VeeMax® Lime Clarifier for Mt ST John WWTP
The Mt St John WWTP was upgraded in 2009 to include an advanced nutrient removal system.
Project Overview
As part of the upgrade, Hydroflux Epco supplied 3 x 42M LogMax® secondary clarifiers and 1 x 16M VeeMax® Lime Clarifier. The lime clarifier includes for a fixed bridge design with a walkway and hand rail spanning the radius of the tank. The mechanism drive is positioned at the centre of the bridge on a sturdy frame to be manufactured of Mild Steel with HDG treatment and painted.
A Mayr clutch is incorporated to the drive coupling for mechanical protection of the drive system. The lime clarifier offer incorporates inlet pipework feeding into the flocculation chamber. The flocculation chamber is manufactured from light and corrosion free combination of materials and features a scum releasing flap to allow passage of surface scum into the general tank area.
The scraper system features EPCO Australia designed underwater hinged scraper blades to form a chevron pattern. The circulation speed and design pattern of the sludge scraper blades minimises turbulence whilst maintaining movement of settled solids to the centre pocket. An access walkway is included and will be supplied and installed as a stringer manufactured in Mild Steel with HDG treatment and painted.
Access components are to be aluminium material and include tread, grating and handrail.
