High Efficiency Band Screens Triples Screening Capture for Gordonvale STP
The Gordonvale STP is owned and operated by Cairns Water. It has a capacity of 1.9MLD or 7100EP.
Project Overview
As part of a recent upgrade to increase plant efficiency and reduce maintenance costs, the existing mechanical screens in the inlet works were replaced with HUBER Escamax Band Screens.
HUBER Escamax is a through flow band screen uses a perforated band to remove solids and screenings from sewage. The perforations capture a high amount of material
as compared to the existing units which were bar screens. The geometry of the screen allows for an easy retrofit into the existing channels.
Maintenance associated with the downstream equipment will be reduced due to the higher screenings capture of the Escamax.
