Hydroflux Industrial’s Advanced Clarification System For Huon Aquaculture
Huon Aquaculture is one of Australia’s premier producers of Atlantic Salmon, with their Hatchery being located at Whale Point Tasmania, some 60kms from Hobart.
Hydroflux Industrial recently deigned, fabricated, and installed a pre-reaction tank and a coalescing plate clarifier for pretreatment to the sites Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR), to reduce the operating load in the reactor.
Influent from the site processing plant is firstly dewatered by a gravity deck (GD), followed by a centrifuge (CF), with the filtrate from the GD and centrate from the CF going to a balance tank. From the balance tank the effluent is pump to the Hydroflux Industrial supplied double pre-reaction tank, the first portion being for coagulation and the second for flocculation. The effluent then flows directly into the Hydroflux Industrial LC60 Lamella Clarifier, from which the clarified water is transferred to the existing MBBR plant, whilst the settled sludge is pumped back to head of works.
The Hydroflux Industrial LC-60 clarifier is a stainless steel body and stainless steel plate, up flow 60o lamella (coalescing plate) clarifier designed for a flow rate up to 60kL/hr. The LC series clarifiers has been designed and fabricated to enable it to be split into the upper tank section and lower cone section to facilitate ease of transport, that is, it’s no longer an over height load but can then be bolted together on site. Also depending on the TSS and the type of the effluent required to be treated the plate spacing in the LC series can be varied at the time of fabrication to suit a variety of flow rate.
