The Mount St John STP operated by Townsville City Council provides treatment to 106,000 people and has a peak capacity of 25,000 kL per day.
Project Overview
As part of a major upgrade in 2011, three EPCO Clarifiers were provided as part of the new secondary treatment process.
The clarifier provided is a peripheral drive secondary sludge scraper. The unit is driven by a shaft mounted gearmotor and an axial torque sensor assembly running on the peripheral tank rim. The clarifier runs continuously and is automatically controlled by the supervisory control system.
